How it works
DOLPHIN is a single-stage or two-stage liquid-ring vacuum pump and compressor.The eccentrically mounted impeller rotates within a cavity partially filled with working fluid. As the impeller blades dip into the liquid, the centrifugal force generated by its rotation creates a "liquid ring" inside the cavity.
The pumped medium is conveyed within the space between the blades and the liquid ring. The eccentric rotation of the impeller alters the volume of these spaces, enabling the gas to be drawn in, compressed, and discharged.
In a single-stage pump, compression occurs only once. In a two-stage pump, the medium being pumped is compressed twice to achieve a higher degree of vacuum—and it can also be used as a compressor.
